HI Members' Club

■ Project Description
Design team set the building along the existing contours with minimum height to reflect the owner's philosophy that is to retain the existing site surrounded by pine forests. A nature-assimilated new space consists of lobby, main restaurant, locker room, start room, and function rooms. The lobby and the restaurant overlooking golf course through the full height windows blur the boundaries between the nature and the building. The building mass with curved walls reduces the massiveness of a hundred meter long building. The main material of exterior finish is red terracotta tile reflecting the color of the local soil, and that of interior space is white terracotta tile resembling the color of Korean white porcelain. Terrace between the lobby and the restaurant separates the two spaces without rigid walls, creating a unique outdoor seating area. The biggest advantage of new facility is that it secures more than 30% of the ocupied space per person compared to the previous one. Sunken gardens in locker rooms are filled with flowers and abundant natural light providing the exclusive luxury for the clubmembers.
