MIB II

Описание к видео MIB II

This video introduces the standard Management Information Base: MIB-II, as defined in RFC 1213. After an introduction it discusses the status of the MIB-II, the original design goals, the basic structure of the MIB-II, the relationship to the TCP/IP layers, and the various groups (system, IF, AT, IP, ICMP, TCP, UDP, EGP, Transmission and SNMP). Since the MIB-II is based upon the initial version of the “Structure and identification of Management Information” (SMIv1 - RFC1155), it has later been updated to the SMIv2 (RFC2578) and split into various smaller MIB modules, such as the IF and IP MIBs. Although this video discusses the initial MIB-II, it should still provide a good overview of the most frequently used managed objects.
