I breathe farewell through sundown, 
seethe farewell at moon down,
ocean swelling tide
to inundate the void inside.

I am my lave of water,
moonlight, wave, sea's daughter
sprawling on her love-in-ebb,
a wind-blown widowed dove.

You gave such air as stretched a sail,
as tousled hair, as flushed bright quail,
and when you wentI lost my tack.
My vessel rent. I went to wrack.

The indigo of midnight
lets me go mid flight 
immersing me [grace notes "i-i-im"]
in sullen sea bereft of ecstasy.

I go with you each sundown,
flow with you through moon down 
till your glitter on my seas
confers a bitter sort of peace.

Some spindrift flies. 
It stings and wrings my eyes.
The waters burn
as sundowns churn and yearn. 
Across their flame I lisp your name.

I cannot cease from loving
(though I ceasefrom moving) 
you——a drifting out to sea
upon my heartbeat obloquy.

And now the ocean takes me
and the motion breaks me.
Afterglow of twilight leaves
while undertow retrieves,deceives.
