this clip from Simpcast, the girls react to the fictional black woman sculpture that has been put up in Times Square. The 12 foot statue is made by British artist Thomas J. Price and it is designed to represent an "everywoman" with familiar everyday qualities... a.k.a. fat black women. The statue also attempts to challenge traditional notions of identity and representation. Some think the statue is praise worthy for its inclusivity while others criticize it for reinforcing stereotypes. At the end of the day it is a statue of a fictional random black woman... DIVERSITY!!! Luckily and without racism they tore down a statue of Abraham Lincoln for this woman.
