Hello my fellow airsoft customizers and pistolsmiths. Well ive finally taken the plunge and started a project ive hinted and talked about for sometime now, namely the Devel Gammon IPSC pistol of the 1980s era.

Potted history:
Charlie Kelsey had an extraordinary infleuence on the modern firearms industry, from the development of the 1911 pattern magazine follower, that allowed an eigth round to be fitted within a standard 1911 magazine without extending the baseplate (which Chip McCormick later started his 'Shooting Star' business with), the firing safety for the Browning Mk II high powers (which Browning said they invented yet didnt they just nicked kelsey's idea), the chopped S&W model 59 conversions that led the manufacturer to launch its second and third generation models (again with no credit going to kelsey), the deep set magazine release later sold under the name "fixed grip speed release" by Vic International. But the main one that got everyones attention was his Devel company "Gammon" double port compensated 1911 pistols. No one had seen this done before and people at the end of the 1983 IPSC nationals were queing up to buy them with cash sales of around $4000 but being the tinkerer and inventor but not the businessman he was heard to refuse the sales and reply with "No no..sorry..we're continuing with more R&D work"
Charlie was one of the most tragic figures in the firearms industry, forever the inventor but never getting the credit. He was tragically murdered and his remains were discovered in a ditch with no suspect found or tried.

The airsoft project:
I will be using all standard TM parts other than those I feel needed to be upgraded. Its going to be a tough one to accomplish and will be a slow build. I can only do a partial parts list for now as things will be added or changed as the build progresses.

TM 4.3/MEU/5.1 hybrid outer barrel.
TM 1911a1 custom hammer.
TM 5.1 custom trigger.
TM 1911a1 custom MSH.
TM MEU custom grip safety.
Guarder/TM1911a1 custom slide lock.
Guarder mag catch.
Plus additional custom foliage warrior frame and 1911a1 slide for extended dust cover/ trigger guard finger hook and compensator.
