10 years is how long we got until nearly half of all the U.S construction workers are no longer building our homes, renovating apartments, fixing the roads that you and I walk and drive on - they will retire.

At the same time, the trade schools - they're empty. Because construction is simply not attractive for the Youth and the same thing happening all over Europe.

I'm Martin CEO of Eric and for the past six months my team has been building a community of over 6 000 skilled migrant construction workers and we've been doing it for one specific reason - to solve the looming labor crisis that is happening within the construction industry.

We do this by matching these workers to the companies all over Europe - Germany, Scandinavia, UK.
These companies are already today so reliant on migrant workforce that without them, their projects would simply not finish.

And it's not just about finding these workers and vetting the skills. Hiring cross-border and doing it legally is where it really gets tricky the bureaucracy is hellish - you got Social Security, visas, taxes... the list goes on.

And the companies, they have no clue how to handle all of this. So no matter whether they're hiring from Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Philippines - they need help and that's why they use incompetent middlemen who are responsible for a large amount of work or mistreatment.

I'm talking about migrant workers not having employment contracts, not having health insurance, unpaid salaries in proper working conditions - the list goes on and on.
I bet many of you don't know this but already today up to 40 percent of the workers on European construction sites are migrants so that's millions of people who are sacrificing their rights, their health so that we could enjoy comfy offices and warm homes.

And that's why it's our mission at Werk to ensure that the people building our cities are treated equally as locals and this is the part that gets us excited. That's why we built the product that doesn't just automate the matchmaking and vetting but we found a way to bring all of the bureaucracies and paperwork online so that the workers and the companies don't get stuck in a hellish limbo bureaucracy.
