If you run Curse of Strahd's tarokka reading straight out of the book, there's the risk that some of the tarokka items can end up in unsatisfying places. For example, a really powerful magic item could be findable immediately or almost immediately, or some of the items might be in difficult-to-reach places, such as deep within Castle Ravenloft...

This video give suggestions and ideas on how to potentially fix a 'bad' tarokka reading draw. Examples include:

If the Sunsword is found early, it has to be 'activated' in order to be used (and the activation is something that'll likely only be done later on in the campaign),
Making easy-to-find items harder to obtain immediately,
Having an NPC grab one of the Castle Ravenloft items for them,
Doing a re-draw - whether it's done by Madam Eva a few days later, or potentially Ezmerelda or Arabelle instead, or
Reworking the card clues in order to move a Castle Ravenloft item to another location in Barovia - such as the Argynvostholt, the Amber Temple or Berez.
