16.3 The pH Scale and pH Calculations | General Chemistry

Описание к видео 16.3 The pH Scale and pH Calculations | General Chemistry

Chad provides chemistry lesson on the pH Scale for acids and bases and pH Calculations. First, the pH scale is introduced with a pH less than 7 corresponding to an acidic solution, a pH above 7 a basic solution, and a pH equal to 7 a neutral solution. The logarithmic nature of the pH scale is also described as each pH unit difference corresponds to a 10-fold difference in the H+ and OH- concentrations. The pH formula and pOH formula are then defined (pH = -log [H+]; pOH = -log[OH-]) and several examples of how to calculate of pH, pOH, [H+], and [OH-] are performed. Their relationships are demonstrated with several example calculations, and it is made evident how when provided any 1 of the 4 values, the other 3 can be calculated.

I've embedded this playlist as a course on my website with all the lessons organized by chapter in a collapsible menu and much of the content from the study guide included on the page. Check this lesson out at https://www.chadsprep.com/chads-gener...
