DRAW WITH ME: French Textile Design Project & Toile de Jouy Museum

In today's video I share with you my latest art project: a textile design for the Musée de la Toile de Jouy's annual competition! I show you my step by step creation of the final drawing: measuring, tracing, painting in with watercolor pencil... this year's theme is "Chitas de Jouy", a combination of historical French fabric Toile de Jouy and Portuguese Chintz of Alcobaça. I was inspired by the beautiful and tragic love story of Ines de Castro and Peter I of Portugal, and I combined my backgrounds in drawing/Bande Dessinée and fashion to illustrate these legendary lovers of Portuguese history.

I also take you on a visit to the Toile de Jouy museum near Versailles to share a bit of French textile history on this gorgeous, iconic fabric full of illustrations!
