Natural-Result Gray Coverage with Illumina Color | Wella Professional

Follow this gray coverage tutorial with a natural color result from Wella Professionals with Color Expert Fergal Doyle. For this look, Fergal is sharing tips and guidance on how to achieve a beautiful amber tone with natural coverage and slightly deeper roots into lighter sun-kissed ends using Illumina Color. Formulas and steps below:

Formula:
Roots: Illumina Color 30g 6/ + 30g 6/37 + 60g Welloxon Perfect 6%
Freehand painting: 30g BlondorPlex + 60g Welloxon Developer 6%
Glossing: Illumina Color 7/43 + Invigo Color Service Conditioner + Welloxon Perfect Pastel 1.9% (1:1:1)

Step 1: Do a hair analysis to determine natural depth and percentage of white.
Step 2: Mix the target shade with naturals for hair with more than 70% of white.
Step 3: Start applying the color at the crown working from ear to ear through the back of the head and finishing of with the hairline in the front.
Step 4: Section the hair into five sections with a diamond shape at the top.
Step 5: Add dimensions to the hair with deep weaves and a freehand painting technique.
Step 6: Develop until the lengths has reached a level 7/.
Step 7: After rinsing apply WellaPlex no.2. Leave for 10 min and then shampoo the hair with Color Motion + shampoo and Blondor Seal & Care Anti-oxidising Conditioner
Step 8: Do a glossing service with Illumina Color to the mid-lengths and ends..
Step 9: Style the hair with Oil Reflections Luminous Smoothing Oil + EIMI Thermal Image heat protection spray. Finish with EIMI Glam Mist Shine Spray.
Step 10: Recommend home regime Color Motion + Shampoo & Conditioner and Color Fresh Mask Caramel Glaze.
