Viking Spindle Spinning Techniques and History - Sewing A Cape Pt. 1

I am sewing a cape and I want to add historical techniques to it for some history bounding with handspun yarn. I have a replica of a Viking Age spindle whorl to explore for this project. It has Norse runes carved into it, possibly intended as a magic charm! Let's take a look at the history of this spindle whorl and then explore some Viking age spindle spinning techniques to spin up the yarn for this cape project!
