When a federal auction listing for the Warwick Neck Lighthouse was posted online in May, Mayor Frank Picozzi started receiving calls with questions he has not been able to answer.

"I was stunned by that," Picozzi said of the listing.

Two years ago, the city along with the Warwick Neck Improvement Association, applied to become a steward of the lighthouse, taking it over from the federal government for free, with the promise to keep up the property and guarantee some degree of public access.
