Followed by 35.9 km (22.33 miles) of the Shenfield to Southend Line and travelling towards the eastern end for its entirety until reaching the coastal city of Southend-on-Sea. Along the way, we briefly meet the western terminus of the Crouch Valley Line at Wickford station.
