The New Shimano SLX is Shimano's latest attempt to take over the $99 baitcaster market. For a $100 baitcaster fresh out of the box I like it's size, fit, finish and feel. And it proves ball bearing count is meaningless. I don't know whether or not this thing is going to be the best $100 reel. Only time will tell. But I know loyalists to the Green Curados are going to be all over this. (and remember guys...this is not a review....just an unboxing, overview, initial impressions and tear down)
