This typewriter has been professionally cleaned and serviced, and it is in excellent near mint condition. There are no marks on the paint and it is exceptionally clean for its age, with the only blemish being half of the sticker for the colour selector lever is worn, which can be ordered at an additional cost if requested. The draw band has been replaced, everything works fantastically, and the typeface is perfectly aligned.

This typewriter has a lot of features such as a full and easy to use tabulator, and a beautiful and ingenious way of setting the margins. The latter composes of a red ribbon like material inside the paper bail. One sets it by pressing a lever along with the carriage release button, while moving the carriage to the position where the margin is set. This machine does not come with a carrying case, and likely never came with one being a wider carriage model.

Like a Swiss mechanical watch, the Hermes 3000 is known for its fantastic mechanical functionalities. People who have used this typewriter has reported it to have a feel as if one is “slicing through butter.” This typewriter carries the beautiful minty sea-foam green paint, which was its trademark in the early 60’s.

Among the famous owners and users of a Hermes 3000 are William Kotzwinkle, Stephen Fry, Tom Hanks, and more famously, Jack Kerouac, who's typewriter was sold for $46,071 in 2018. Tom Hanks calls this machine a luxury item he would choose to take with him anywhere he would go.

This is one of the most sought after vintage typewriters on the market today. And are extremely hard to find in this condition.
