About Guest:
Retired Col. Dr. Virendra Kumar Sahi, VrC who is an international speaker and Environmentalist, He was Born at Kanak Mandi, Jammu in 1943, Col Dr Virendra Kumar Sahi, VrC (Retd) was commissioned in Aug 1964 In 1st JAK Rifles. He rendered 35 years of meritorious active service in the Indian Army, during which he was on the prestigious Services Selection Board selecting officers for the army and Navy. He was decorated with 8 JAK LI & commanded three JAK LI battalions. He fought the 'Battle of Laleali' in Chhamb sector as the isolated Company Commander in 1971 and was awarded VIR CHAKRA by the President of India, for display of extraordinary courage and bravery in the face of enemy.
Post retirement he was appointed as Regional Director (HRD) for northern India. He established the Army Placement Node at JAMMU, which benefited many retired Ex-servicemen from the Army and their employers. He is an active defence analyst and political commentator. As a social activist he is devoted to the welfare of War Widows, War disabled and serving defence forces personnel.
