This is a tutorial on how to set up your very own local Terraria server. This is useful because it grants you access to a limited list of commands that are beneficial for use during gameplay. It also allows you to create and choose from more than 5 worlds (the in-game server hosting only allows up to 5 worlds).

Default TerrariaServer.exe file path:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\terraria\TerrariaServer.exe

Finding your private IP address (for those with routers; usable for LAN/Local Area Network):
1. Open command prompt (Start►Run►type "cmd" and hit enter).
For Windows 7, enter "cmd" into the "search programs and files" box on the Start Menu
2. Type into the command box "ipconfig -all" and hit enter.
3. Look for the line reading "IPv4 Address" or something resembling that (generally located under a main header labeled Wireless Adapter or some variation of that).
4. Your private IP address is the number formatted as ##.##.##.## (for private IP addresses, it will generally start with a "192.##.##.##" or a "10.##.##.##".

Finding your public IP address (if your server is not being used on a LAN/Local Area Network):
1. Navigate to "www.whatismyip.com"
2. Your public IP address is the number formatted as ##.##.##.##, found in the center of the webpage (for example, 74.125.113.104, which happens to be google.com's IP address).
