Former key member of Dera Sacha Sauda Pardeep Kler — one of the main accused in the “conspiracy into acts of sacrilege” — has accused Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal of playing “a big role” in getting pardon to dera head Gurmeet Ram Rahim from Akal Takht in Sept 2015.
This comes amid a segment of the SAD leadership having been ranged against Badal, who was recently summoned by Akal Takht.

SAD has termed it a “deep-rooted conspiracy” to defame the party and Sikh institutions by using the accused of a “conspiracy in sacrilege, who otherwise should be given severest punishment”.
SAD chief spokesperson Arshdeep Singh Kaler said, “Pardeep Kler faced five cases of sacrilege. The Aam Aadmi Party govt, acting on the directions of central govt, has made him approver while he should have been hanged for the serious crime of sacrilege.”
Kler has also accused Badal of meeting the dera head ahead of 2012 and 2017 Punjab assembly elections despite an edict issued by Akal Takht against keeping any relation with Ram Rahim. The revelations were made by Kler in an interview with a web channel, which went viral on Monday. Kler, in an interview with news site ‘Ritesh Lakhi Unplugged’, said he was a key member of Dera Sacha Sauda since 2008, made head of its political wing in 2014 and was asked to arrange for the release of dera head starrer film MSG2 in 2015.
