This is a scene of trial run known as a "Singing train" or "melody train" on Keikyu Rainlway Company Type 2100, which has the devices of VVVF inverter made by SIEMENS CORPORATION , Germany. The Keikyu has started an updating constructions from these German devices to domestic ones from 2008. And finally, one of this series, 2133-2140, has been replaced to Not- "Singing train" on Sep.2014.

This video was recorded in 02 Nov.1998 by 8-mm video camera. This test has been carried out prior to commercial operations. And have a precious opportunity of hearing some unique and beautiful melody or sounds.
The recoding place is the stations between Keikyu Kurihama and YRP Nobi on its Railway,Kurihama Line, in Yokosuka City. Because this place has a steep slope of 30/1000, 30‰. they have attmpted some test of 'electrical overload'. Then we were able to hear something unusual as we can hear that in normal operatins or any other movies recorded in usual.

Unfortunately, as the track located nearby the heavy trafic road and it has a steep slope, you may feel the noise of the car running annoying.

ドレミファインバーターでお馴染みの京浜急行(京急)2100形ですが、2008年より動力装置の換装が進められ、2133~編成が歌う2100形のラストランナーになりました。
この映像は、その2133~編成が登場した日に行われた、竣工試運転のなかの退行起動試験というメニューの模様です。
京急久里浜~YRP野比間の尻摺坂(しっこすりざか)と呼ばれる30‰の勾配区間で停止した後にブレーキを緩め、転動して後ずさりするなかでノッチを投入し起動するという一種の過負荷試験ですが、その際にシーメンスのインバーターは、なかなか美しくユニークなサウンドを奏でてくれました。
現場は交通量の多い幹線道路が並行していて通行する車の騒音が多く、肝心の音が聴き辛く大変に申し訳ありません。
