Fiat MultiAir Solenoid Valve Operation

Описание к видео Fiat MultiAir Solenoid Valve Operation

This video demonstrates the operation of the solenoid valve located in the Fiat MultiAir cylinder head "brick". The upper pumping element is being manipulated by hand, allowing engine oil to be pumped through the bleed port, into the bleed cavity. In this state, the brake pumping elements (and intake valves) are not actuated by the oil movement. When the solenoid valve is closed electrically, the bleed port is closed, allowing oil movement to manipulate the brake pumping elements/intake valves. This is how the MultiAir system regulates intake valve movement.

This video is part of a presentation given at the Illinois College Automotive Instructors Association conference at Hunter Engineering, St. Louis , MO, in March 2016. Full presentation notes available at https://opensiuc.lib.siu.edu/auto_pre...
