Hema Malini, in resplendent pink, radiated beauty and grace at the Jaipur Dev Festival closing night in Raj Mandir on 26th September 2023, as she spoke at length about her films with Dev Anand and the evergreen hero as an actor and a human being.

Striking up a conversation with journalist-author Bhawana Somaaya, the superstar actress recalled her films with Dev Anand such as Johny Mera Naam (1970), Tere Mere Sapne (1971), Joshila (1973), Shareef Badmash (1973), Amir Garib (1974), etc., recounting memorable anecdotes and humming the popular songs.

Hema Malini fondly remembered humorous incidents that happened during the shooting of Johny Mera Naam, when the electric cable car got stuck in mid-air with her sitting on Dev Anand's lap; the shooting of Dheere se jaana khatiyan mein in Chhupa Rustam (1973), and Pal bhar ke liye in Johny Mera Naam that needed to be shot in one complete take and needed 15-20 retakes to get it perfect.

She saluted his professionalism and his warm, affectionate attitude towards his costars. Speaking to her on stage was Ravi Kamra, President of The Evergreen Dev Anand Society, Jaipur. Ravi Kamra asked her about her experience of riding pilion on a cycle with Dharmendra on the Jaipur streets.
