Here's why you should: Badass Brooklyn Animal Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit, all-breed dog rescue composed of a network of fosters and volunteers who work together to rescue sweet, loving, adoptable dogs from death row at high-kill, overpopulated shelters in the South. Many dogs that are frequently euthanized in Southern states are in high demand in the Northeast, where there is a significantly larger population of qualified adopters actively seeking to adopt dogs. When Badass commits to rescuing a dog, we rehabilitate any health and behavior issues that might impede that dog’s ability to stay in a forever home. After rehabilitation, we re-home, working tirelessly to find the perfect match for each individual dog. And our commitment to our dogs doesn’t end with adoption: we provide a strong, structured and supportive adopter community, enabling our adopters to take better care of their dogs and each other. Our rescues become part of a larger Badass community, ensuring they will never be abandoned again.

What we would do: Badass takes on ALL vetting costs. Vetting ranges from spay/neuter to vaccines, to heartworm treatment (costs about $400-$1,000 per dog), to surgeries costing thousands. Badass has a vetting program which spends nearly $75,000 year on these costs. This grant would go to assisting with this program.
