and Welcome to a Ganesh Chaturthi Special Ukadiche Modak (उकडीचे मोदक) Episode of ‪@RedSoilStories‬
Ganesh Chaturthi is the most beloved festival in the month of Shravan and it is celebrated very generously in various parts of Maharashtra. The celebration, Puja, Recipes can be different according to the region but this festival brings lots of joy, excitement, happiness in every part of Maharashtra.
There many recipes that are made as a Naivadya/Prasad for this festival. Last year we saw how to make Ukadiche modak. This year we are preparing Flavored Ukadiche Modak viz. Rose, Mango and Dry fruits.
It is a very simple traditional sweet recipe which includes nothing but Rice, Jaggery, Grated coconut, Cardamom, Poppy seeds etc. It is also very easy to prepare.
For rose flavored modak we used rose syrup and gulkanda, for mango flavored modak we used alphonso mango pulp, and for dry fruit flavor we added dry fruit in the filling.
All three flavors were prepared and steamed as shown in the video.
We had shot this episode in advance just to let you guys see and get an idea about flavored Modak.
