German Cavalry (1935)

Exercise on the River Oder of the Kavallerieregiment Nr. 6 in July 1935.



German cavalry troops led by military band parade along road. They go past a large house.



Troops clean their horses and kit. Some of them are simply wearing underwear. The soldiers carry their kit to inflatable boats. The boats are rowed across while the soldiers ride them across. The river is so deep that the horses have to swim. One of the soldiers swims across towing a raft. A large raft is rowed across. Several good shots of the boats and horses crossing the river.
