Rayas Delta 3 (Norte) | SOI Divestream 709

Targeting basin sediment in the upper Reloncavi Fjord. This is a distinct inner basin of the fjord, fed by two rivers to the north. The site has been selected based on bathymetry and sub-bottom profiles, targeting a region of well-stratified undisturbed sediments. The aim is to retrieve intact sediments to determine basin sediment inputs, including from the Calbuco volcano and specifically the imprint of the 2015 Calbuco eruption. Sample targets are: bottom water, push cores for seabed interface, push cores for infauna, vibrocores (x 2), scoop bags for infauna.
