On January 7, 2022, Black Panther director Ryan Coogler was briefly detained by Atlanta police after a Bank of America teller mistakenly suspected a robbery. Coogler discreetly handed the teller a note requesting a withdrawal, along with his ID. Unbeknownst to him, the teller alerted authorities.

The Bank of America apologized to Coogler and likely reached a settlement. As mad as Coogler was, he said that it should never have happened to anyone, and he has already moved on.

Ryan Coogler is the Director of the widely successful Marvel franchise "The Black Panther". He was shooting a movie in Atlanta and told the cops that he provide 1000 jobs for the city.
