Spotlight with Scientists in School: Stephanie Thompson, Engineer and STEM Mentor

International Day of Women and Girls in Science is just around the corner. In honour of this special day, celebrated annually on February 11th, we are shining a Spotlight on Stephanie Thompson, Professional Engineer at General Motors Canada.

Stephanie is a passionate engineering and community leader. She has been recognized by the Women's Executive Network as one of Canada's Top 100 Most Powerful Women three times! Stephanie works tirelessly to break down barriers for women and girls pursuing a career in technology. In 2019, she successfully launched Women in STEM Experiences (WISE), a program which aims to make STEM subjects widely accessible and to help empower female students to pursue leadership and technical roles.

Join us as Stephanie shares practical ideas on how we can open the wonders of STEM to young girls so that they have the confidence to say, "I can be a scientist!"
