Additional notes:

Purists and professionals do not refer to CVT fluid as oil because of distinct properties; others refer to fluid and oil somewhat interchangeably due to their lubricating properties. Here the terms are used interchangeably for this reason.

The 17mm “fill plug” referred to in this video in other places is used as a “check plug” only. This model CVT also has a rubber plug on top that can be used to fill instead, with the 17mm plug used only to check level (also referred to as the “check plug”) - by draining any excess out the side, the correct fill level is automatically achieved. The downside of using the rubber fill plug on top is that due to its location it may make accidentally knocking dirt or grime into the CVT housing more likely - good cleanliness for any hose or funnel introduced to the CVT is important. While using the top plug may make filling faster, using the side plug/port may improve cleanliness. If using the top plug, take care to clean before using and avoid introduction of contaminants. The other design advantage of the top rubber plug is that assuredly more than one person has removed their drain plug without checking to see that they could actually remove the side fill/check plug first - with the top rubber plug at least an approximation of the correct fill level can be made until the vehicle can be driven to a shop.

It’s recommended elsewhere to hold each shift position for several seconds when running and cycling positions after filling. Seems prudent.

Shallower ramps may reduce need to place the back of the vehicle on jack stands, though a more level surface is more desirable in achieving the correct level.

Regular CVT fluid changes are important - old, dirty CVT fluid can result in premature CVT failure. Replacing a CVT is expensive and is likely to cost several thousand dollars.
