The hard surface of the floor can provide your spine with a level of support it just won't get from a soft mattress, but to reap the benefits, it must be done right. If the mattress is not supportive, your body is constantly subjected to being out of alignment. Over time, your body will start to react to the misalignment, creating curves and postures that are not healthy, which can cause significant pain. If you experience a lot of stiffness in your body when you wake up, try sleeping on the floor. Believe it or not, you will notice a vast improvement in how your body feels when you sleep on the floor. It should be noted that when you first start sleeping on the floor, it can take a while to get adjusted to. That’s because your body is accustomed to sleeping on a mattress. However, after a few nights, your body will adapt to the floor; your muscles will stretch out and you will wake up feeling much less stiff and much, much better.
