In this continuation of my series of readings from the Avataṃsaka Sūtra I jump a few chapters ahead from my previous reading to Chapter 14: The Praise Verses on the Summit of Mount Sumeru. I read the introduction to the chapter as well as the second set of verses, which I found interesting and insigthful. I again provide, after the reading, relatively indepth commentary on how the verses can be usefully understood. The main topics addressed here are the emptiness and quiescence of all phenomena, and how they are, in their essential nature, all identical to the Buddha. Everything shares the same Buddha-nature.

There's a mistake here at 24:40, where I call latent tendencies "āsaya". They are actually called 'anuśaya'. My apologies for this!

Once again, I really like this. :) It's honestly a pretty nice insight practice for myself as well, certainly deepens the reading! I expect to do these periodically for a good while, though focusing on the parts I find most interesting.
