Polaris Coolant Change & MUCH MORE. Overheating Issues Troubleshooting.

In this video I'll do a quick coolant change on a 1999 Polaris Sportsman 500. (Applies to Similar.) And discuss many of the causes of over heating issues and how to diagnose. Covering the parts of the cooling system and location and ways to test them. The radiator, radiator cap ,fan, fan heat sensor, engine temp sensor and Temp light, Thermostat, the overflow reservoir, and the water pump. And a little about the head gasket. This is an extended version of a video viewers had requested. It was time for a coolant change so I tried to at the same time cover as much as I could on the system and topic in one video. Coolant used. Ethylene Glycol. Should say safe for aluminum.(In my case.) See sticker on your radiator or owners manual to confirm what your machine requires.. Brand of your choosing. I recommend products designed for ATV use. And manufacturers recommendations or warranty requirements.
