Cheap vs. Expensive Mic Boom Arms - Is There Really a Difference?

What makes an outstanding mic stand that can withstand years of use? Does more money equal better quality? Well, yes. In this video I take a look at an inexpensive articulating mic arm and compare it to the Rode PSA1.

While the less expensive mic arm isn’t totally terrible, it’s nowhere near the quality of the Rode. For light use cases it can absolutely get the job done, but if you can, spend a little extra and get a mic stand that will last the rest of your life.
