The tale of Astroneer is amazing, and this reviewer has been following it from the beginning. This endearing little teaser trailer, which depicts a spaceman traveling through desolate, low-poly alien environments, was first released in 2015. Although it wasn't entirely clear what the game was, it was immediately appealing. When it was released in 2016 as Early Access, its Minecraft-meets-No Man's Sky sandbox won over fans' hearts.
After seven years, Astroneer is finally making its way to the Nintendo Switch, which is probably the ideal platform for it. Even though the game is several years old, some titles are so well-suited to the portable handheld experience that you hope against all hope that it will be ported over. This time, your hopes were realized.
