With none of the original cars left, Real Deal Steel, Snodgrass Chevy Restoration and Steve Blades set out to build a tribute version as close to the original as possible. The Bel Air features over 100 parts plated in 24K gold, and over 100 24K gold plated fasteners holding them on, just like the original car. It also has the correct 265 V8 engine, Powerglide automatic transmission and 3.55 rear axel, and is painted to match the original exactly.

Now that the most accurate recreation of the 50 Millionth GM finished, it’s time to pass it on. This amazing vehicle just sold at the Mecum Auctions Indy 2024 Spring Classic for $434,500 (including buyer fee).
