New Mobility for the Future City

Besides energy production, urban transport is one of the significant factors of global CO2-emission caused in cities. Against this background, urban development and mobility need innovative thinking. This is where Stiftung Mercator's project "New Mobility for the Future City" comes in. In cooperation with the Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities as well as the Transportation Research and Consulting GmbH, scientists from the University of Duisburg-Essen Institute for Urban Planning carried out a study to investigate what urban transport could look like in the future.
