You all must have heard about the #jaipuraccident LPG Tanker Explosion. It was a tragedy that could have been easily avoided. What could be the reasons behind this disaster?

In psychology, we have a term called "Normalization of Deviance"—this means people begin to treat risks as “normal” when they continue engaging in risky behavior over a long period.
Something similar can be seen here as well. LPG gas is heavier than air, which means if #LPG leaks, it will settle on the ground, significantly increasing the risk of fire or explosion. Despite this, the driver decided to take a U-turn without any safety measures, which clearly reflects the normalization of deviance.

The Jaipur-Ajmer highway, on the other hand, has been incomplete for the last 3-4 years. The highway lacks proper safety features such as barriers and warning signals. This is another reason that highlights the failure in preventing such accidents.
