We were looking through old paperwork and found documents from when my Mom was committed to 2 youth facilities as a child.❤️ @parishilton has spoken about this subject before, about how youth behavioral hospitals in the 80s and 90s were really bad and needed a lot more oversight. 🥺 It was very unnerving to look up the facilities that my Mom was held in as a child, and find out that both of them had been shut down for allegations of misconduct and abuse!😞💔 It was even more disconcerting to look through her paperwork and see that all the behaviors listed as reasons for her hospitalizations, look like autistic behaviors. 🙄 How did they miss this in her? Why was she overlooked and ignored and mistreated?🤬
Do you or anyone you know have any experience with these sort of facilities? ❤️❤️❤️
