This is the 16th installment of “Fletcher Reads the Newspaper”, a series of events that seek to generate dialogue around a topic “ripped from the headlines.” These topics draw upon inter-disciplinary insights in a manner that can be described as "only at Fletcher."

On Friday, April 3, 2020, we focused on the - unfortunately all-too-visible topic of global pandemics and their containment, and asked the question: “A Pandemic-Proof World: Multilateralism's Shining Moment or Mission Impossible?”

We’ll examine this question through a uniquely Fletcher lens, not only as a public health issue, but also from the perspective of economic impact, governance and law, digital misinformation and privacy, and the political environment.
