MY STORY ADMITTING ADDICTION | "I am an Addict" | Addiction and Psychosis to Recovery and Healing

My story admitting addiction tells how naming my struggles as addiction - "I am an addict" - has changed my life. I speak about moving through addiction and psychosis, my mental health / "mental illness" struggles, towards recovery (sobriety) and healing. Although I've battled and befriended many addictions, I focus here mostly on my alcoholism and alcoholic sobriety.

I’ve been blessed to realize that I don’t have to do this alone, and that beneath all the addictions - the self evasion tactics - lies pain that when held and when felt, can be transmuted into empathy and love.
