Hero HX250 was first showcased in 2013, as the HX250R but hasn’t still gone on sale due to the issues with EBR. Developed by American’s Erik Buell Racing, Hero and EBR failed to keep their partnership going which has led to the severe delay of this bike. The quarter-litre motorcycle has been much awaited but delayed massively, even though the Hero HX250 was showcased at the 2014 and 2016 editions of the Auto Expo.

The Hero HX250 got a lot of attention for being a practical everyday sports bike with a ton of performane. Not only does it use interesting hardware bits like a Geodesic frame, it also produces the most power from a single-cylinder 250cc engine in the Indian market. However, the production model’s specs are yet to be announed and could be heavily toned down for practical purposes. The Hero HX250 dropped the R tag at the 2016 Auto Expo.
