[TEVI Demo] All Bosses Expert+4, No Core Expansion, No Damage

Описание к видео [TEVI Demo] All Bosses Expert+4, No Core Expansion, No Damage

No i-frame/bullet cancel hitless Vena, Malphage from the TEVI Playtest/Demo on the highest possible difficulty. TEVI is the spiritual successor to Rabi-Ribi that will hopefully be released sometime this year.
I frankly think it's more difficult to even survive Malphage without core expansions (and without consumables) than to do a damageless run with core expansions. They are really just that crucial because a lot of the patterns are kinda bullshit but easily skippable with a well-placed core expansion to cancel bullets.

Expert is the highest difficulty in the game, and each time you defeat the bosses, the bosses rank up and you get to fight more difficult versions of them. Expert+4 is the highest possible rank for the bosses - it is an untested difficulty and is thus not exactly meant to be fair.

I honestly wasn't expecting to do this - it was more of a "hey that was a damageless run wasn't it" kind of thing. I played the TEVI playtest a lot, mainly to test changes and help find bugs. Every time a new patch came in that affected combat / the bosses, I would fight the bosses again to check that the combat wasn't broken by the patch. Found and got a lot of issues fixed along the way.

Either way, at some point I did so many no core expansion clears on Malphage that I felt that maybe I could try for no damage no core expansion. A lot of planning went into the fights. Most of the fight is routed, though there's still bullshit RNG everywhere so it was anything but easy.

That being said, the TEVI demo is probably one of the most fun things I've ever played. I can't get enough of beating up the two bosses in the demo or experimenting with movement techs. There is so much to do even though it's just a demo.

In case it wasn't already clear from the gameplay, TEVI is created by the same developers as Rabi-Ribi. It shares a lot of similarities with Rabi-Ribi, but is no Rabi-Ribi 2, as it is different in a lot of ways. The "spectacle fighter" aspect of TEVI especially intrigues me. Executing fancy combos powered by special moves obtained by equipping sigils seems to be going to be a huge part of the game. Of course, it will still be a bullet-hell x metroidvania game just like Rabi-Ribi.

I love this game way more than Rabi-Ribi, mainly because Tevi's movement feels so much smoother, and Tevi can do air combos.

This is the playtest build, and the actual demo will probably come out later. The playtest period will end soon, and I think it's no longer possible to obtain playtest keys. The full game probably will be released later this year.
