An interview with Duffy Jackson

The son of legendary bassist Chubby Jackson, Duffy Jackson is an artist with an impressive track record, who has worked alongside stars such as Duke Ellington, Dizzy Gillespie (with whom he won a Grammy Award in 1990), and Ella Fitzgerald. His surprising sense of rhythm and his extraordinary technique have made him the heir to the great drummers of the past. He is also famous for his didactic activity with young musicians, through which he tries to pass on the basics of his work as an artist. At this year's edition of JazzAscona, he will be performing with the Michel Pastre Big Band and with the quintet made up of the Grasso brothers, Luigi and Pasquale, and of the young French saxophonist Nicolas Dary.
