IRM Museum Showcase Weekend Day 1: 9/16/23

It's time for a showcase.

It's that time of year again, which means it's time for the Illinois Railway Museum's annual Showcase Weekend, and once again for the 70th Anniversary, IRM was doing something different. While IRM normally operates night trains during Showcase, this year trains would operate throughout the night all the way til Sunday evening, and while we wouldn't be attending the overnight operations. We did attend today's operations at the museum and despite the rain, it was a pretty solid day with one of the biggest surprises being Shay 5 sporting a Chinese 5 Chime whistle. Maybe we'll come back tomorrow. Enjoy!
