Risk Score for Stroke and Mortality Prediction in Atrial Fibrillation Patients

Описание к видео Risk Score for Stroke and Mortality Prediction in Atrial Fibrillation Patients

Blood thinners are used to prevent atrial fibrillation patients from a stroke. But blood thinners like warfarin are more complicated to manage and come with increased risk of uncontrolled bleeding. New research from Benjamin Horne, PhD, with the Intermountain Medical Center Heart Institute discusses the Intermountain Mortality Risk Score and the CHA2DS2-VASc tool when it comes to more accurately treating patients with atrial fibrillation. The results were also presented at the American College of Cardiology Scientific Session in Washington, D.C.
