The Ellenbrook Line

Filmed on Sunday 8th December 2024. It is the very first day of the Ellenbrook line being open to the public! There is plenty on showcase at the opening with most being free or low cost. Metronet also showcased their new C series trains once again with the first 2 trains arriving into the platforms being C series set 131 and 133. Set 134 was absent today after suffering a breakdown the night before opening. It is set to enter service shortly. Some news on set 127; it is never going to enter service and will stay as a test train. No news on set 128 however. 5 new stations have been added to the Transperth train network those being Morley, Noranda, Ballajura, Whiteman Park and Ellenbrook with Bennet Springs East station proposed to be built in the future between Ballajura and Whiteman Park. This brings the total number of stations in Perth over 80 and has been the biggest rail project in Perth since 2007 with the opening of the Mandurah line. It was a super busy day, much more busy than the Yanchep Extension to the point where the frequency had to be changed to 10 minutes to be able to move people from the crowded platforms. Whiteman park seems to be the favourite out of the 5 new stations being a sky rail station and having a very interesting feature that no other Transperth station has. A tram interchange. I took the tram today from Whiteman park station to Whiteman Village and back. Video will be released in the coming weeks!
