Violin String Shootout: Peter Infeld PI vs Thomastik Infeld "T.I." aka "Shop Strings"

Описание к видео Violin String Shootout: Peter Infeld PI vs Thomastik Infeld "T.I." aka "Shop Strings"

It's that time again: time to change my strings! So in the interest of Science™ I'm documenting the process. USE THE TIMESTAMPS TO JUMP BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN SOUNDS QUICKLY... Which do you prefer? Leave a comment!

The old strings are my most recent favorite: Thomasik-Infeld "Ti" strings (aka "shop strings," so called because you can basically only find them in a violin shop, as they're sold only in bulk to dedicated retailers!). I first discovered these at Voss Violins in Atlanta—an emergency pit stop on tour last year after leaving my shoulder rest in North Carolina—and I was so pleased with the sound (and feel!) that I bought more at my local shop in Boston (watch my visit to New England Violins here:    • CHIN CELLO CHALLENGE: a Vlog  ).

Last time I was in the shop, though, I decided to give the Peter Infeld PI strings a try, after a Facebook thread led me to thinking about them (shout-out to Brandon at The Fiddle Mercantile!). The results? Well, hear for yourself!
