How far is the Tri-Valley from Silicon Valley?

My name is Cooper Eisenmann, I am a full time Realtor in the Tri-Valley and San Ramon Valley which consist of Livermore, Pleasanton, Dublin, San Ramon, Danville, and Alamo.

As I mentioned before, the Tri-Valley consists of Livermore, Pleasanton, and Dublin. The San Ramon valley consists of San Ramon, Danville, and Alamo.

I have been receiving a lot of emails, texts, and calls from people who currently work and live in the Silicon Valley and many of them are considering buying a home in the Tri-Valley for the relatively lower home prices, schooling, overall community, and relatively lower population.

So how far is Silicon Valley from the Tri-Valley and San Ramon Valley? I will base everything off of Mountain View since a lot of people work in or around Mountain View. Pleasanton is just about 30 miles from Mountain View or about 40 minutes without traffic. During prime-time traffic hours, that commute could exceed 1 hour to 1.5 hours.

Mountain View to Danville is 42 miles or about 45 minutes without traffic and could reach the 1.25 to 1.5 hour mark in traffic.

Another great thing about these tech companies and the Tri-Valley/ San Ramon Valley is the shuttle bus routes. Another key factor in a prior tech client moving to Pleasanton was the convenient access to the shuttle that picks up employees and drives them to work. What he said was great about that was the ability to use the Wifi on the shuttle to complete work to and from the office to maximize the commute time. Rather than have to drive himself and not be able to work at all.

Now I obviously don’t work in tech but after speaking with my clients who do, they all mentioned a change for in-person office work moving forward. Several of my clients who have recently bought homes in Danville and Pleasanton have expressed that they will only be required to enter the office 2-3 times a week moving forward hence justifying the longer commute for them.

It all comes down to personally preference and what works for you. Other clients are still waiting to hear back from their companies to understand if they will be required to go into the office full time or not before relocating to the Tri-Valley.
