Exploring Pellicer Creek Conservation Area

Описание к видео Exploring Pellicer Creek Conservation Area

Not far from Faver-Dykes State Park, but in a different county, this trail was a perfect choice. I included a spur across the land bridge, over I-95, which led me to the property of the Florida Agricultural Museum. I looked around at a couple ponds and headed back over the interstate. I also continued on into the neighboring Princess Place Preserve. I wanted to see the covered bridge and some of the boardwalks along the Hominy Branch Trail.
I like the mix of pines and palmettos before I reached Pellicer Creek. There was space between the bushes instead of them totally covering the ground. Gave it a different look than what I'm used to.
Once I reached the creek there were nice views out over the water.
As far as wildlife, I mostly found insects and birds, though I did spot a couple deer at the beginning of my hike. One of the insects was a Katydid. I was trying to find one on another trail recently after seeing one in a spider web. No luck then, but I found one this time out.
Once I got to the bridges I started seeing crabs. One crab in particular I had never seen before. Very cool to film my first Mangrove Root Crab. Mangrove Tree Crabs were also present but I've seen thousands of them before. lol.
