SYSTEM OF A DOWN - TOXICITY Drum Cover

Cover #152. A drum cover of System of a Down's song Toxicity from the album Toxicity! I thought it was time for another drum cover and felt like just rocking out along to something I already knew quite well. This song and band played a huge role in my interest for drums and heavier music. I believe System of a Down, Disturbed, and Rage Against the Machine where the only three "heavier" bands that I listened to during elementary and middle school and tried to drum along with.

There are SO MANY note-for-note drum covers and performances of this song. There are a bunch of lessons for this song. And there seem to be many transcriptions for it as well! Therefore, I felt like it was OK that I just winged it and just had fun with it. Most of the things that John Dolmayan originally played is in there, but there are some differences to fills, and I play a bass drum pattern that includes a lot of double strokes, which John originally doesn't.

Such a fun tune, and it feels good to just rock out! This was the first and only take I did.
My arm is getting better and better. I saw an orthopedist again last week, and have regular meetings with physiotherapists. We're on the right track. Slowly getting there!
