Take 2: Coming back home for this time has provided some major mental shifts, and reminded me of why I left and why I honestly didn’t plan to return until I saw my vision come to fruition. Not that I expected this journey to be easy, or to have plateaued out by now, but being back this “soon” without having tangible evidence really had me a in a place where I thought I had failed the mission; maybe I should just pack it up, move back and jump back into IT on the gov’t side and collect a steady check again. I thought about the type of struggle slaves with children must’ve had, trying to escape to freedom; sleeping on the ground, traveling for miles on foot with no rest, no food..having to hear the babies cry and kids complain and ask why they can’t just go back..all while being scared and uncertain themselves. But also knowing what awaited for them if they did quit and didn’t at least TRY. The physical opposition and threat is quite different but the mental struggle still weighs the same; the next generation will never know “freedom” if we don’t show them what it looks like…
